Storyline

Typhoon Talas, the fourth typhoon of the year, made landfall in Vietnam early Monday morning.

Talas made landfall in Nghe An Province in the North Central Coast region of Vietnam, bringing strong winds and rain to the area.

Residents had to stay at home amid the extreme weather, which also forced closure of seafood restaurants that are normally popular at night.

"The business is good when there's no storm. News about storms are being broadcast on TV all day, and the government organized teams to carry out anti-flood checks, urging hotels and restaurants to keep bracing for strong wind and rain," said Nguyen Thi Nga, one of the seafood restaurant owners.
