Storyline

A speeding driver's live stream broadcast of his "fast and furious" exploits while driving his one million yuan luxury car on a highway got him into hot water with police recently in east China's Anhui Province.

The high speed action took place on July 7 as the driver, surnamed Jiang, attempted to make his journey from Hefei, Anhui's provincial capital, to Changzhou City in neighboring Jiangsu Province in a record time. The young man drove at dangerous speeds while changing lanes along the way. He also made sure that his antics were being viewed by netizens following him on his live stream broadcast.

"So fast! Really fast! But I doubt 150 or 170 kilometers per hour is fast enough," said Jiang as he was reading comments left on his video.

Jiang may have been enjoying the rush from blazing down the highway, but his dangerous driving eventually caught the attention of some netizens who then reported the matter to local police.

"We received a report at around 11:30, saying that some driver was broadcasting live on Douyu [a live online broadcast platform] his speeding," said Hu Jian, a traffic police officer.

From the video, police confirmed that Jiang indeed drove well beyond the speed limit. The driver's fun eventually ended as police later intercepted him at a tollgate.

The police made sure Jiang's speedy drive did not go without a "reward" as he was issued a fine and had his driving license revoked due to multiple traffic violations that reach the 12-point penalty limit.
