Giant panda Jun Zhu, gave birth to a female cub on Sunday in southwest China's Sichuan Province.
Both Jun Zhu and her baby, which weighs 163.8 grams, are in good health, according to the breeder Dong Chao in Wolong Panda Reserve (Shenshuping Panda Base).
Dong said since Jun Zhu sent out prenatal signals on June 24, he and his colleagues had closely monitored the panda for nearly a month.
"Jun Zhu exhibited prenatal behavior on June 24. And continued to show strong prenatal signs after a 28-day period," Dong said.
Jun Zhu gave birth to two male cubs in 2010 and 2015 respectively.
