"We have noticed the relevant reports and are concerned over the issue. In recent years, Japan has played up the so-called 'China threat' while increasing its defense budget, expanding its military and implementing its new controversial security laws. We should be on high alert for Japanese practices and its true intentions. The Japanese side should explain its intentions honestly to its neighbors and the international community. For historical and practical reasons, the international community and especially Japan's neighbors have kept a close eye on Japan's military moves. We urge the Japanese side to stop hyping up the so-called 'China threat', really learn the lessons of history, take its Asian neighbors' security concerns seriously and act prudently in military and security fields."
