An ox crazily knocked down five pedestrians before being shot dead by police on Saturday in Xingning City of south China's Guangdong Province.
The ox was transported from out of the city. It got rid of the rope and ran away immediately after getting off the truck.
Surveillance video shows five pedestrians were knocked down by the escaping ox. One female victim sustained three broken ribs while other four victims got minor injuries.
Local police rushed to the spot immediately after receiving the report. They later found the ox in the south of the city, but it rushed into the forest and disappeared after realizing there were people around.
To prevent the ox from hurting more people, police and village officials conducted a comprehensive search in the area and finally found it in an old house in Diaofang Town.
"We informed the villagers to close their doors. Then we blocked the exit of the old house in order to trap the ox and kill it," said He Yinghao, a police officer of Diaofang Local Police Station.
The sniper of the police finally found a sniper site and shot the ox dead.
