"For the 30-plus years since its reform and opening up, China has opened up a road of cooperation and win-win that brings benefit to the world while seeing to China's own development. This has been widely recognized by the international community. In fact, there is rich evidence that China-US relations, especially economic and trade relations, are cooperative and mutually beneficial in nature. I can give you a few figures. The bilateral trade volume between China and the US surpassed 550 billion U.S. dollars in 2016, and two-way investment, 200 billion U.S. dollars, and their trade relations, direct or indirect, helped create 2.6 million jobs in the United States. The profits of American companies that invested in China amounted to 36.2 billion U.S. dollars in 2015."

"According to the strategic plan made at the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), we will continue to adopt policies that promote high-level trade and investment liberalization and facilitation. This will definitely inject a strong and new impetus into China-US economic and trade relations towards dynamic equilibrium, mutual benefit and win-win results and propel China-US economic and trade cooperation towards a larger scale, higher level and broader field. We are willing to work with the US side to build strong, stable and healthy economic and trade relations, which we believe not only serves the interest of both countries but also complies with the aspiration of the international community."
