Storyline

A pair of giant panda twins in the Austrian capital Vienna have been enjoying their leisure time during the Spring Festival by frolicking around and having some bites of fresh bamboo.

Male giant panda cub Fu Ban and his sister Fu Feng were born on Aug 7, 2016 in Austria and spent a couple of months in baby incubators, with each of them then weighing only 100 grams.

Their parents Yang Yang and Long Hui arrived in Austria in 2003 and produced a total of five baby pandas. Long Hui died in Dec 2016, leaving the mother Yang Yang to care and have fun with her babies at Vienna's Schoenbrunn Zoo.

But Yang Yang has her hands full with the mischievous Fu Ban, who loves climbing around and often has to be carried back to safety from the top of the tree branches by his worrying mother.

However, Fu Feng, the female twin, has a much quieter lifestyle and is at her happiest when eating or sleeping. As a result, Fu Feng has gained more weight than her more active brother.

"Pandas are a very beloved species that's for sure, and it's great to watch them, to observe them, even for me to stand here and see them playing, being active, feeding on bamboo. They have this very calm and relaxed character and it's just great to watch them," said a zoo keeper.

Ever since the pair were born, locals have flocked to the zoo and are keen to snap photos of the cute pandas while enjoying their amusing behavior.

"It's not the first time, we come many times here because it's near and it's nice to come here and not too expensive," said a local visitor.
