"Yesterday I heard a report from the team members who came earlier, which I think is very good. Their operation and preparations are very good. We've tested all the equipment. Basically there is no problem, so I feel quite relieved. The weather today is very good, way better than I thought. You see, I'm wearing a lot but it's not so cold. I hope it will not be so cold during the closing ceremony, and the wind will not be very strong."

"We've made full preparations. Talking about pressure, I'm still worried about the weather as it is uncontrollable. If the weather is good, the show will have a better result. Of course, our equipment has been tested in low temperatures and under environment with wind."

"I can't say. You will see. There will be no surprise if I tell you now. We hope the audience watching it on TV can tell the difference from the show in 2004. It represents China's new progress in science and technology, so it will be totally different. As producers of the two shows, we can see the big difference between the two eight-minute shows. You can tell the country's development, the new development. The first mission [for the show] is to express the Chinese people's welcome of the 2022 Winter Olympics. We welcome visitors (from around the world)."

Storyline

The design team of Beijing's eight-minute show arrived in PyeongChang on Saturday.

The closing ceremony of the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympics will be held on Feb 25. As the host of the next Winter Games, Beijing will stage an eight-minute show.

After one night's rest, Zhang Yimou, chief director of the show and his team members visited the PyeongChang Olympic Plaza, where their show will be presented one week later. They coordinated with the chief director and broadcast team of the closing ceremony.

I hope it will not be so cold during the closing ceremony, and the wind will not be very strong," said Zhang.

Although the local temperature has rebounded over the last few days, the wind is still strong and the temperature may go down to minus five degrees Celsius at night. Weather remains the biggest challenge for the team.

"We've made full preparations. Talking about pressure, I'm still worried about the weather as it is uncontrollable. If the weather is good, the show will have a better result. Of course, our equipment has been tested in low temperatures and under environment with wind," said Zhang.

Being asked about the details of the show, Zhang still kept his lips buttoned.

We welcome visitors (from around the world)," said Zhang.
