The intergovernmental agreement on visa-free travel between China and Belarus took effect on Friday.
The agreement stipulates that Belarusians will be able to stay in China without a visa for up to 30 days in one trip, but not more than 90 days a year. The same rule will apply to Chinese citizens.
The visa-free travels will cover private trips, business trips and tourist trips.
The intergovernmental agreement on mutual visa-free travel for ordinary citizens of the two countries was signed in China's Qingdao on June 10 during Belarusian president's working visit to China.
"Belarus is the 13th country in the world that reached an agreement on mutual visa-free travel for ordinary citizens with China, and is the fourth in Europe after San Marino, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH)," said Sun Chuanjiang, deputy head of the Section of Visa Policy and Affairs of the Department of Consular Affairs of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
