Storyline


Chinese Premier Li Keqiang met with French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian in Beijing on Friday.

Li said France is an important country of the European Union, and Sino-French relations have worldwide influence.

Applauding current cooperation between the two sides, Li said China and France have worked together on nuclear power for 30 years and have made breakthroughs this year on the third-generation nuclear power cooperation.

There is huge potential for the development of bilateral ties with win-win results, and China stands ready to work with France to promote all-round practical cooperation, so as to better benefit the two peoples, Li said.

He called on the two countries, which are both major economies and permanent members of the UN Security Council, to make contributions under the current circumstances to world peace, development and prosperity.

Le Drian said both China and France support multilateralism, advocate a political solution to differences, and France is ready to enhance strategic communication and pragmatic cooperation with China.
