"The Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-speed railway is a major cooperation project between the mainland and Hong Kong in cross-border infrastructure construction. The 142-kilometer-long line runs from Guangzhou through Shenzhen to Hong Kong West Kowloon, with the 26-km section in Hong Kong being mainly underground tunnel. The opening of this line marks Hong Kong's entry into the high-speed railway era."

"At weekends, a family living in Guangzhou can leisurely take the high-speed train to West Kowloon in Hong Kong, a shopping paradise and gastronomic capital, where they can do shopping, have a dinner in a favourite restaurant late in the afternoon, and then go and watch an international-level performance in a grand theater in the nearby West Kowloon cultural region which is going to be completed. At last, the family would take the high-speed train back to Guangzhou within an hour unhurriedly, without disrupting their work or school the next day. I also hope that Hong Kong people who have never been to the mainland, especially young people, can take the train to travel around in the mainland, so as to know more about the true state of national development."
