The specially themed train, which is running along Shanghai Metro Line 2, features the iconic blue characters from the Belgian comic "The Smurfs." The first themed train launched by Shanghai Metro, the campaign serves to advertise both the expo and its exhibitors.
The train also represents the closer ties between Shanghai and Belgium, who together are going to build an industrial park for trade and logistics, and plan to make it a platform for Sino-European trade. The project is also expected to be highlighted at the expo.
