President Xi expressed his views on a post-2020 vision for cooperation. He called on APEC members to draw a post-2020 vision for APEC cooperation and promote regional economic integration. Many leaders attending the event responded positively to Xi's proposals for Asia-Pacific cooperation, applauded China's important role in Asia-Pacific cooperation and looked forward to closer cooperation with China so as to make the region more prosperous."

With the joint efforts of all parties, the 26th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders' Meeting achieved positive results, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said Monday.

The meeting, held at a time when the regional economy is facing both opportunities and challenges, has pushed forward practical cooperation in various fields within the APEC framework, Geng said at a routine press conference.

China attaches great importance to the meeting. Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the meeting and delivered a keynote speech. Xi proposed focusing on openness, development, inclusiveness, innovation and a rules-based approach, strengthening international cooperation, improving global economic governance and handling common challenges.

The spokesman applauded APEC's role in promoting trade, investment and economic integration in the Asia-Pacific region, saying China hopes to enhance cooperation with APEC members to promote the region's better development.
