China's per capita disposable income stood at 28,228 yuan (around 4,165 U.S. dollars) in 2018, up 6.5 percent year on year in real terms, official data showed on Monday.

Resident income and consumption maintained stable growth in 2018 while rural residents' income and expenditure grew faster than that of residents in towns, according to Ning Jizhe, director of China's National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

"The annual per capita disposable income stood at 28,228 yuan (about 4,165 U.S. dollars), a nominal increase of 8.7 percent over the previous year, and an actual increase of 6.5 percent after deducting the price factor, faster than the growth rate of the per capita GDP, and was basically in line with economic growth," said Ning.

Separately, urban and rural per capita disposable income reached 39,251 yuan and 14,617 yuan in 2018, up by 5.6 percent and 6.6 percent respectively in real terms after deducting price factors, according to the NBS.
