East China's Jiangsu Province saw a huge change in its consumption market during this Spring Festival as locals tended to spend more money on digital products, outbound travel and fitness.

Intellectualization is an important trend in the upgrade of consumption. As the Internet and the Internet of things are developing vibrantly, home appliances have also linked with the network to become smarter household helpers.

Under the stimulus of Spring Festival consumption, smart refrigerators, smart window cleaners and smart washing machines have become the "new favorite" of consumers. And some music players, intelligent robots and intelligent door locks, with the assistance of artificial intelligence technologies, have also become popular among ordinary people.

"More and more customers are willing to go to brick and mortar stores to experience some of these products. The application of 5G networks will bring us great technical and network support for these intelligent product terminals," said Wu Chenbiao, a staff member at a brick and mortar store in Nanjing City.

Besides digital products, more and more people tended to celebrate the Chinese New Year with their family members outside the Chinese mainland.

"I think nowadays, people are paying more attention to a healthy life so compared with the past, there are more choices available now," said a local working out at a gym.

According to preliminary statistics by the Department of Commerce of Jiangsu Province, the total sales volume of Jiangsu Province during Spring Festival had reached about 14.45 billion yuan, up 8.2 percent year-on-year.
