"We've verified with related countries the guiding principle of financing and investment and made common efforts to build a long-term stable, sustainable and risk-controllable financing and investment system. The Asian Financial Cooperation Association now has more than 100 members. Special lending schemes worth 380 billion yuan equivalent had provided strong support to the cooperation in infrastructure, production capacity and financing under the Initiative. The Silk Road Fund has raised additional 100 billion yuan."

All the 279 projects visualized at the first Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in 2017 have been completed according to plan, said an official from the Office of the Leading Group for Promoting the Belt and Road Initiative on Monday.
Xiao Weiming, director of the general group with the Office of the Leading Group for Promoting the Belt and Road Initiative, made the statement at a press conference on the progress and contributions over the past few years and the prospects of the Belt and Road Initiative in the years to come.
"After joint efforts from all sides, all 279 projects in 76 items under five major categories visualized at the first Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation have been completed according to plan," said Xiao.
The projects were mainly in the area of infrastructure, such as transportation, energy and water sources. Within the scheme of Belt and Road Initiative, many projects, including the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway in Indonesia, Colombo Port City in Sri Lanka and the Hungary-Serbia railway had all raised funds successfully.
To promote free trade and investment, China has signed production capacity cooperation documents with 41 countries and set up financing and investment platforms with Latin American and African countries.
