Beijing, China - June 12, 2019 (CCTV - No access Chinese mainland)

2. SOUNDBITE (Chinese) An Fengshan, spokesman, Taiwan Affairs Office, China's State Council (starting with shot 1):
"Now more than 10,000 people from all walks of life in cities and counties of Taiwan have applied for the Strait Forum, the largest ever. It fully demonstrates that the Strait Forum sticks to the nature of being unofficial, grassroots-based and broadly-represented, actively promotes cross-Strait exchanges and cooperation between the compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, and it is widely recognized and welcome among the people in Taiwan."

4. SOUNDBITE (Chinese) An Fengshan, spokesman, Taiwan Affairs Office, China's State Council (partially overlaid with shot 5):
"Unreasonable obstruction by the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) administration in Taiwan indicates that it fears closer and better cross-Strait exchanges and cooperation, and this will not hamper the Strait Forum. We call on the DPP administration not to go against the trend or backslide, not to become an obstacle to cross-Strait people-to-people exchanges and hurt the interests of Taiwan compatriots. These will eventually be scorned by the compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait."

The 11th Strait Forum starting from Saturday will be the largest ever, said spokesman with the Taiwan Affairs Office of China's State Council An Fengshan on Wednesday.
The Strait Forum will be held in east China's Fujian Province from June 15-21, and more than 60 activities can be expected during that week, An told reporters in Beijing.

The bond of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait is inalienable, and enhancing cross-Strait exchange and cooperation is their common wish which has strong public support, said An.
