The annual meeting of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) in Luxembourg, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, will focus on how to enhance connectivity between Asia and Europe, said the institution's Vice President Danny Alexander.

Luxembourg, a small country in northwestern Europe, is the first European country to host an AIIB annual meeting and was also the first non-Asian country to become a member of the AIIB.

According to Alexander, Luxembourg is the ideal place for the institution's first annual meeting in Europe because it is a center of global financing and innovation.

"Luxembourg, as one of the European countries, plays such an important role in the foundation and the setting up of the AIIB, and in the running of the AIIB today, so it is a very good opportunity for us to explain to all of our shareholders the big progress that the AIIB has made in our first three and a half years, the many projects, the growing membership, the increased focus on climate change and connectivity, and investments that we have. That is what we expect to happen in this annual meeting this week in Luxembourg," said Alexander.

This edition of the annual meeting is expected to be attended by over 1,500 representatives and will focus on sustainable infrastructure investment and cooperation, with enhancing connectivity between Asia and Europe high on the list of major topics.

Since its launch in January 2016, the AIIB has participated in the construction of 40 projects worth over eight billion U.S. dollars.

Alexander said these projects have facilitated connectivity between countries and attracted more private investment in Asian infrastructure construction.

He said in addition to benefiting countries' economic growth, the AIIB also plays an important role in fulfilling promises under the Paris Agreement on climate change and tackling climate change.

Selon M. Alexander, le Luxembourg est le lieu idéal pour la première réunion annuelle de l'institution en Europe, car le pays est un centre mondial de finance et d'innovation.

"Le Luxembourg, en tant que pays européen, joue un rôle important dans la fondation et le fonctionnement de la BAII. C'est donc une très bonne occasion pour nous d'expliquer à tous nos actionnaires les progrès considérables accomplis par la BAII dans les trois premières années et demie, les nombreux projets, le nombre croissant de nos membres, le renforcement de notre attention accordée au changement climatique et à la connectivité, ainsi que nos investissements. Depuis son lancement en janvier 2016, la BAII a participé à la construction de 40 projets d’une valeur de plus de huit milliards de dollars.

Ces projets ont facilité la connectivité entre les pays et attiré davantage d'investissements privés dans la construction des infrastructures en Asie, a indiqué M. Alexander, ajoutant que la BAII joue également un rôle important dans la réalisation des engagements de l'Accord de Paris sur le changement climatique et la lutte contre le changement climatique.

قال داني الكسندر، نائب رئيس البنك الآسيوي للاستثمار في البنية التحتية (AIIB) إن الاجتماع السنوي للمؤسسة المقرر عقده في لوكسمبورج يومي الجمعة والسبت/12 و 13 يوليو الجاري، سيركز على كيفية تعزيز التواصل بين آسيا وأوروبا.

يُذكَر أن لوكسمبورج، وهي دولة صغيرة في شمال غربي أوروبا، تعد أول دولة أوروبية تستضيف اجتماعا سنويا للبنك، كما كانت أول دولة غير آسيوية تنضم لعضوية المؤسسة.

وذكر الكسندر أن لوكسمبورج هي المكان المثالي لعقد الاجتماع السنوي الأول للمؤسسة في أوروبا لأنها مركز للتمويل والابتكار على الصعيد العالمي.

La reunión anual del Banco Asiático de Inversiones en Infraestructura (BAII) en Luxemburgo, programada para hoy viernes y el próximo sábado, se centrará en la manera de mejorar la conectividad entre Asia y Europa, indicó el pasado jueves Danny Alexander, vicepresidente de la institución financiera.

Luxemburgo, un pequeño país en el noroeste de Europa, es el primer país europeo en organizar una reunión anual del BAII y también es el primer país no asiático en convertirse en miembro del BAII.

Según Alexander, Luxemburgo es el lugar ideal para la primera reunión anual de la institución en Europa porque se trata de un centro de financiamiento e innovación global.

"Luxemburgo, como uno de los países europeos, desempeña un papel tan importante en la fundación y el establecimiento dl BAII, y en el actual funcionamiento del BAII, por lo que es una muy buena oportunidad para nosotros a explicar a todos nuestros accionistas el gran progreso que el BAII ha logrado en nuestros primeros tres años y medio, los muchos proyectos, la creciente membresía, el mayor enfoque en el cambio climático y la conectividad, y las inversiones que tenemos. Se espera que a esta edición de la reunión anual asistan más de 1.500 representantes. El evento se centrará en temas como la inversión y la cooperación en infraestructuras sostenibles, así como una mayor conectividad entre Asia y Europa.

Desde su lanzamiento en enero de 2016, el BAII ha participado en la construcción de 40 proyectos por un valor de más de 8.000 millones de dólares USA.

Según el vicepresidente, estos proyectos han facilitado la conectividad entre países y han atraído una mayor inversión privada en la construcción de infraestructura en Asia.

Señaló que además de beneficiar el crecimiento económico de los países, el BAII también desempeña un papel importante en el cumplimiento de las promesas en virtud del Acuerdo de París sobre el cambio climático.

　2016年1月に設立以来、AIIBは80億米ドルを超える40のプロジェクトの建設に参与してきた。

　アレクサンダー副総裁は、これらのプロジェクトは各国間の相互連結を促進し、アジアのインフラ建設への民間投資をより多く集めたと述べた。

　AIIBは、各国の経済成長に利益をもたらすだけでなく、気候変動に関するパリ協定の履行および気候変動への取り組みにおいても重要な役割を果たしていると付け加えた。

Die Asiatische Infrastrukturinvestmentbank (AIIB) werde auf ihrem diesjährigen Jahrestreffen, das für den Freitag und Samstag (12. und 13. Juli) angesetzt ist, die Förderung der Vernetzung von Asien und Europa in den Vordergrund stellen, sagte deren Vizepräsident Danny Alexander in einem Interview mit dem chinesischen staatlichen Fernsehsender China Central Television (CCTV).

Luxemburg, ein kleiner Staat im Nordwesten Europas, ist das erste europäische Land, das ein Jahrestreffen der AIIB veranstaltet, und auch das erste nicht asiatische Land, das der AIIB beitritt.

Alexander meinte, Luxemburg sei ein idealer Ort für das erste Jahrestreffen der AIIB in Europa, weil es ein internationales Zentrum der Finanzierung und Innovation sei.

Seit ihrer Gründung im Januar 2016 hat sich die AIIB an 40 Projekten mit einem gesamten Wert von über acht Milliarden US-Dollar beteiligt.

Alexander erklärte weiter, dass diese Projekte die Vernetzung zwischen Ländern erleichtert und mehr private Investitionen in den Infrastrukturbau in Asien angezogen habe.

Er sagte, die AIIB fördere nicht nur das Wirtschaftswachstum der betreffenden Länder, sondern spiele auch dabei eine wichtige Rolle, die Versprechungen des Pariser Klimaabkommens zu erfüllen, und den Klimawandel anzugehen.
