Storyline

Thanks to the participation of 60 tiny cute babies ranging from eight to 18 months, the crawling contest on Friday in Vinnytsia, the western part of central Ukraine, melted the hearts of participant parents and onlookers.

One of the participators, Yakiv has just turned one. He is celebrating his first birthday not only with his family, but also with his peers at the crawling competition.

"Yakiv crawls really fast. When I saw the ad, I said He is within the age limit. We have to participate," said Olena Shpyhanevych, Yakiv's mother.

The 30 boys and 30 girls are all aged from eight to 18 months.

"Girls crawl first, then boys. Three at a time. We didn't select them strictly by age, because there are babies who are 8 months old but can crawl faster than the older ones," said Denys Petrenko, the organizer.

The main rule of the contest is that parents cannot touch their children until they finish the race. However, it is allowed to entice the babies to the finish line.

All parents have their own methods. Some use keys, cell phones, and toys while some even brought their pets.

"My heart and soul are overwhelmed with emotion! I have no words only admiration," said Valentyna, grandmother of a race participant.

Organizers decided not to announce the winners, but instead all babies were granted champions.
