Hong Kong police on Tuesday once again called for joint efforts to restore social order.

The call came at a press conference, in response to the increasing tensions between the police and rioters.

"It's only because someone has broken the law that police have to enforce the law. Many innocent citizens and even visitors of Hong Kong have been unfairly affected by protesters' readiness actions. I hope the public will understand that the police use force only as a means to containing the violent situations. And we always use force with restraint. We never wish to see any injury or casualties. If you still believe in peaceful, rational, and non-violent expression of speech, I appeal to you to cut ties with all rioters. We appeal to you to not let violence become a new norm. Please join us in restoring the order of society," said Tse Chun-chung, chief superintendent of the Public Relations Branch with Hong Kong Police.

La police de Hong Kong a appelé mardi à des efforts conjoints pour rétablir l'ordre social.

L'appel a été lancé lors d'une conférence de presse, suite aux heurts et aux tensions croissants entre la police et les manifestants radicaux.

" C'est seulement quand quelqu'un viole ou enfreint la loi que la police intervient pour rétablir l’ordre. Сянганская полиция 13 августа выступила с призывом к совместным усилиям по восстановлению общественного порядка как можно скорее.

Данный призыв прозвучал на пресс-конференции, посвященной эскалации напряженности в отношениях между полицией и радикально настроенными демонстрантами.

"Только из-за того, что кто-то нарушил закон, полиция должна обеспечить его соблюдение. Многие невинные граждане и даже гости Сянгана были несправедливо затронуты действиями протестующих. Я надеюсь, что общественность поймет, что полиция использует силу только как средство сдерживания ситуаций насилия. И мы всегда применяем силу сдержанно. Мы ни в коем случае не хотим видеть пострадавших или погибших. Мы по-прежнему верим в мирное, рациональное и ненасильственное выражение свободы слова. Я призываю вас разорвать связи со всеми протестующими. Мы призываем вас не допустить того, чтобы насилие стало новой нормой.
