China's top legislator Li Zhanshu Wednesday in Beijing met with Zinaida Greceanii, speaker of the Parliament of Moldova.

Li, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), first expressed his gratitude for Greceanii's congratulations on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and appreciated Moldova's firm support on issues concerning China's core interests and major concerns.

The NPC of China is ready to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the Moldavian parliament, learn from each other in legislation, supervision and governance, provide legal guarantee and support for jointly building the Belt and Road and economic and investment cooperation, and promote friendly exchanges at the local and non-governmental levels, Li said.

Greceanii said that Moldova attaches great importance to its relations with China and is ready to actively participate in the construction of the Belt and Road. Moldova hopes to work closely with the NPC of China, give full play to the role of the legislature and push forward bilateral friendly cooperation in all areas, she said.
