China urges the United States to uphold sincerity to find a win-win solution to the trade frictions with China, said Hua Chunying, spokeswoman with the Chinese Foreign Ministry, at a press briefing in Beijing on Wednesday.

Hua made the remark in response to a question concerning the escalating China-U.S. trade rows.

"China has been consistent in its position and attitude, including our practice, on trade frictions. We never want to stage a trade war and we always wish to reach a win-win resolution acceptable to both sides through consultations and negotiations on the footing of equality and mutual respect. We urge the United States to uphold the same sincerity and show its honesty to make joint efforts with China to create favorable conditions and atmosphere for appropriately settling the trade disputes between the two countries through consultations and negotiations on the basis of equality and mutual respect," said Hua.
