"On April 23 this year, MSDF's destroyer JS Suzutsuki was invited to attend the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army Navy in Qingdao and accepted review with Taiyuan. This time, we attend the international fleet review at the invitation of Japan. All the soldiers and officers will fully show the new look of the Chinese Army and Chinese soldiers for the new era with excellent attainment and fine style of work."

Storyline

The guided-missile destroyer Taiyuan of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy arrived in Yokosuka, Japan on Thursday for the international fleet review which will be hosted by Japan.

Destroyer Taiyuan sailed into the nearby seas of Yokosuka at around 07:00 and met with the warships of Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (MSDF).

More than 300 people including officials from the Chinese embassy and consulate in Japan, overseas Chinese, representatives of Chinese-funded institutions and officers of MSDF held a grand welcoming ceremony at the dock.

The international fleet review will be held by the MSDF in the waters of Sagami Bay in Tokyo on October 14. More than 10 warships from seven countries including China, the United States, the UK, and MSDF will take part in the review.
