Storyline

A unique Lego statue of Jinbao, the expo's mascot, decorates the special lifestyles exhibition area for consumer goods of the upcoming 2nd China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai.

This reporter from China Central Television (CCTV) noticed that a 3D panda statue made by Lego particles featuring Jinbao, had been built in the lifestyles exhibition area. This work was built of more than 210,000 Lego pieces, which took Hou weiwei, the world's only female LEGO Certified Professional, three months to finish with her team.

"I really want to introduce our version of Jinbao. It is mostly made of the plant-based particles. We can see that the embossments bulged on the mosaic wall and floor are all made of the particles," said Hou.

At the first expo, the turnover of the exhibition zone for clothing and consumer goods was up to 3.37 billion U.S. dollars. And it was also the first exhibition zone to restrict the visitors because of popularity.

Luxury brands and high-tech makeups also highlights the special lifestyles exhibition area for high-end consumer goods.

The top two luxury groups in the world, LVMH and Kering will make their debut for the first time.

Luxury brand Gènavant which dazzled the first expo with a pair of bejeweled heels worth over 30 million yuan (about 4.3 million U.S. dollars), brings this year's expo a "priceless treasure heels" made of precious raw materials and the combing of the Chinese-Western exquisite crafts.

"Why this one is so special is that it's kind of a presentation of artwork. And of course it is still wearable. It's made of jadeite, white jadeite, green diamond, amethystine and some rubies," said Reggie Hung, the design director of Gènavant.

Moreover, a 3D printing face mask from Amore Pacific featured at the first expo, has brought in the upgraded version this year which can not only customize the essence according to different skin types, but also reduced the mask printing time by five times.
