Storyline


The GDP of 25 provinces in China exceeded one trillion yuan (142.95 billion U.S. dollars) in the first three quarters of 2019, according to data released by provincial bureaus of statistics.

South China's economic powerhouse Guangdong Province was the top among the 25 provinces. Its GDP rose 6.4 percent year on year to 7.72 trillion yuan (1.09 trillion U.S. dollars) in the first three quarters of 2019.

With Yunnan, Guizhou and Tibet Autonomous Region taking lead, western provinces of China remained a strong growth momentum.

Eighteen provinces grew at the same rate as or in excess of national average in the first three quarters, maintaining stability while making steady progress.

The GDP growth rates of Shandong, Tianjin, Guangxi, Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning were lower than six percent, due to factors of economic and industrial structures.

China's GDP expanded 6.2 percent year on year in the first three quarters of 2019 to about 69.78 trillion yuan (about 9.87 trillion U.S. dollars), according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
