Storyline


Hong Kong police arrested four people on Tuesday after finding explosives and related materials in an apartment and a private lab.

The material found in a residential unit in Mong Kok would be used to target police officers and facilities, according to the police. On Tuesday evening, a bomb squad arrived on the scene to dispose the explosives, which set off a minor blast. According to the police, the material was enough to blow up a car.

The police also found helmets and bulletproof vests. Authorities arrested three people who are suspected of being the core members of the "Valiant" group, a radical anti-government organization.

In another development, the police also found materials for producing home-made bombs in a lab in Sheung Shui area and arrested one person. The suspect is believed to have taken part in an illegal gathering on New Year's Day.
