"We have put forward the concept of 'parallel live broadcast' for the gala this year. The gala will be presented not only on TV channels, but also on the 5G new media platform, Yangshipin, that has been launched by China Media Group in 2019. Audience may comment on the show while watching it. We will also air the gala on many other new media platforms so that audience may participate in the 'parallel broadcast matrix' that we have built."

The annual China Central Television (CCTV) Online Spring Festival Gala will be broadcast simultaneously on CCTV-3 prime time and CCTV network multi-terminals at 19:30 (1130 GMT) Friday.
With theme "Youth Carnival", the gala will gather together youngsters from various walks of life to put on an excellent show on stage.
"We have gathered together a group of youngsters from various walks of life, who have been the most popular and who have drawn most attention on the Internet in 2019. Besides young actors, there are also cyber-stars, civilian idols and heroes," said Wei Xing, executive producer of the gala.
The gala highlights many new technologies and new styles of performances.
It has taken "Internet space plus red lanterns" as the main elements for the stage design. By fully capitalizing on various kinds of high-tech screens, the lifting stage, light matrix and red lanterns, it will treat audience to an excellent visual feast.
It will use the data portrait to visualize annual trends on the Internet as well as people's wishes for the new year.
An online and offline cross-screen interaction will be carried out during the broadcast for audience to participate in the gala.
