China's employment remained stable in 2019, thanks to more than 13 million new jobs created, said Ning Jizhe, deputy head of the National Development and Reform Commission in Beijing on Friday.
Ning told a press briefing that "around 13.52 million new urban jobs were created in 2019, the seventh year at that level, accounting for 122.9 percent of the anticipated target of 11 million. In December, the surveyed urban unemployment rate was 5.2 percent. The surveyed urban unemployment rate for all the months of the year remained between 5 percent and 5.3 percent, below the anticipated target of around 5.5 percent."
