A total of 726,700 pieces of medical protective clothing had been delivered to central China's Hubei Province by Wednesday, and the capacity utilization rate of masks had reached 94 percent nationwide, said officials on Thursday at a press conference.

Cao Xuejun, deputy director of the Consumer Goods Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, introduced at the press conference that as of Wednesday, 726,700 medical protective clothing have been delivered to Hubei from across the country, along with 358,400 medical isolation masks and protective goggles, 156 negative pressure ambulances, 2,286 respirators, 6,929 ECG monitors, and 761 automatic infrared thermometers.

At the press conference, Xia Nong, a first-level inspector with the National Development and Reform Commission, introduced the production condition of masks. He said that the capacity utilization rate of masks had reached 94 percent nationwide as of Tuesday.

"With the joint efforts of all parties, China's mask output has been increasing day by day since February 2. As of Feb 11, the capacity utilization rate of masks has reached 94 percent nationwide; in particular, the medical N95 masks, which are urgently needed for front-line prevention and control, have reached a capacity utilization rate of 128 percent, and eight provinces have reached or exceeded 100 percent," Xia said.

Xia said that the current mask production can meet the needs of front-line medical personnel.
