Storyline


Cuban and Russian people, including politicians and students voiced their support to China's fight against the viral pneumonia recently.

Cuban President Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez and Foreign Minister Bruno Eduardo Rodriguez Parrilla expressed their support to China on the social media.

Working together, Cuba's state television and Havana branch of the China Media Group made a special program on China's fight against the epidemic, informing the local audience of the progress made so far.

"The world has witnessed the unity of the Chinese people when facing difficulties. They are admirable. Cuba will offer all our strength and positive energy to China so that the situation will soon be resolved," said Roxana Romero, the anchor of the program.

Students of the Confucius Institute of the University of Havana made a video recording to show their support to the Chinese people.

"The courage, patriotism and unity of the Chinese people really touch me. The Chinese people are not alone. The whole world is supporting China. Cuba supports China. Students of the Confucius Institute of the University of Havana support China. I hope our Chinese friends will enhance their confidence. You are not alone. We are together with you," said Elisabet Capote Lopez, a student of the Confucius Institute.

A Russian official and an expert also expressed their support.

"The Russian people deeply sympathize with the Chinese people in what they are going through. We support the Chinese people and government and offer our condolences to those who have lost their families. We sincerely hope that those who are receiving treatment will recover soon. We believe the Chinese people will win this battle. You will succeed," said Dukhanina Lyubov Nikolaevna, deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education and Science.
