"The number of cases in China continues to decline. In the last 24 hours, there were almost nine times more cases reported outside China than inside China. The epidemic in the Republic of Korea, Italy, Iran and Japan are our greatest concern."
4. Press briefing
5. SOUNDBITE (English) Maria Van Kerkhove, technical leader of WHO Health Emergencies Program (partially overlaid with shot 6):
"The experience that China has with COVID-19, the work that they are doing in taking an evidence-based approach to this response is something that the world needs to learn from. We have been communicating and working with colleagues in China from the beginning. So there's a lot of fundamental things that were done in China that can be done anywhere. The earlier you act, the better chances you're going to have, and all of that buys us time."

World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Monday that while the number of COVID-19 cases in China continues to decline, the situation in the rest of the world is now WHO's greatest concern.
He told a press briefing in Geneva that the spread of the epidemic was the greatest concern in the Republic of Korea, Italy, Iran and Japan.
"The number of cases in China continues to decline. In the last 24 hours, there were almost nine times more cases reported outside China than inside China. The epidemic in the Republic of Korea, Italy, Iran and Japan are our greatest concern," he said.
The WHO chief said with no cases in more than 130 countries, there is still a chance to contain the spread.
Meanwhile, Maria Van Kerkhove, technical leader of WHO Health Emergencies Program, said the continuous decline in the number of cases in China proves that the spread of the virus can be contained, and China's experience in fighting the epidemic is worth learning.
