Storyline

As new coronavirus cases subside across the country, four ministries and commission in China have issued a notice on Tuesday to require all localities to safeguard the transportation security for people entering and leaving Wuhan City and central China's Hubei Province, the worst-hit region of the coronavirus outbreak in China.

The Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and the National Health Commission issued the notice as the central government approved of lifting the control measures for the passages from Wuhan City and Hubei Province, and orderly restore the external traffic.

The notice requires the relevant departments across the country to provide "point-to-point" chartered vehicle service for people to leave or return to Wuhan and Hubei. In accordance with the principle featuring "one vehicle with one plan", the transportation departments should formulate plans to organize the vehicles in advance, and provide "point-to-point" non-stop services for people.

Starting from 00:00 on Wednesday, inter-provincial chartered vehicle services in and out of Wuhan can be implemented. Under the premise of well-performed health management and prevention and control measures, Wuhan migrant workers who hold a qualified Hubei health code can leave the city after passing the nucleic acid test through chartered vehicle service.

Starting from 00:00 on Wednesday, people of places in Hubei Province other than Wuhan who hold a qualified Hubei health code can leave Hubei by driving. From 00:00 on April 8, people with a qualified Hubei health code can leave Wuhan by driving.

The notice also pointed out that the inter-provincial road passenger transport in and out of Beijing will remain closed.
