China has actively carried out international cooperation on fighting the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), sharing prevention and control experience and technologies with the world, said Zeng Yixin, deputy director of the National Health Commission, in Beijing on Thursday.

Zen made the remarks at a press conference on China's cooperation with the international community in fighting COVID-19.

"China's prevention and control strategies, methods, technologies, standards, and cases have been tested in actual combat. They are also what we have explored, analyzed, and summarized in continuous practice. China actively shares these precious experiences with the international community according to the needs of different countries. China has organized experts to carry out in-depth technical exchanges on containing the pandemic, according to Zen.

"The NHC and the WHO have jointly held a briefing on China's experience on COVID-19 response, which was attended by representatives from 77 countries and seven international cooperations and was watched by over 100,000 people online. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the UN Coordinator in China and the World Bank officials all spoke highly of China's prevention and control effectiveness in video speeches and on-site speeches, calling on other countries to draw on China's prevention and control experience and work together to fight the pandemic," said Zen.

China has also established an online knowledge center in the field of epidemic control and clinical treatment, as well as an expert database for international cooperation, Zeng said, adding that nearly 30 technical exchange meetings have been held with more than 100 countries and regions by video links.

Moreover, China has dispatched expert teams on epidemic prevention and control to provide assistance to other countries affected by the pandemic, said Zen.

"So far, we have sent expert teams to Italy, Serbia, Cambodia and other countries. We are preparing to send expert groups to other countries affected by the epidemic. We have also guided Chinese medical teams stationed in 56 countries to fully tap their professional and technical advantages, actively assist developing countries to carry out epidemic prevention and control work, and provide technical consultation and health education.
