The Chinese government has been helping Chinese citizens abroad to protect themselves against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) as confirmed cases of the pandemic around the world rise quickly.

The Chinese embassy in Sri Lanka distributed masks to Chinese nationals in the country. The epidemic prevention supplies here are currently seeing a shortage, and to collect enough masks, the Chinese embassy has taken some from the emergency stock of the embassy staff.

Sri Lanka is also enacting a curfew and all high-speed roads are closed, making transportation of the masks difficult. As a result, the embassy has coordinated with local police to deliver the masks.
