Poverty-stricken regions in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region are promoting their agricultural products by combining livestreaming with e-commerce to help them shake off poverty.
Government officials in Hotan Prefecture and Qira County held a livestreaming to sell their agricultural products at a local trading center on Friday.
Those county officials are working to help local people get rid of poverty through modern ways.
"In the future, we need to change our thinking modes, and combine online and offline sales modes, to promote our unique agricultural products such as jujube and walnut, so as to fight against poverty," said Yang Zhi, deputy secretary of Hotan Prefecture's Communist Party of China (CPC) Committee.
More than 40 kinds of agricultural products were sold during the livestreaming, including jujube and rose tea, providing a new way and creative idea for local people to explore the market.
