"As I was passing by I saw the terrorists coming and they parked their cars here. The police officers of the Sindh Province took up weapons immediately when they saw two of the terrorists get out of the car. An older policeman was shot dead by the terrorists. Two terrorists tried to rush in but got killed at the gate. Then two other terrorists got out of the car and ran through the gate. Fortunately, they did not enter the building. This is the gate through which they entered and were shot by the police inside."

A total of 11 people were killed in a terrorist attack on the Pakistan Stock Exchange building in the southern port city of Karachi on Monday, police said.
The militants with sophisticated weapons stormed the building of the Pakistan Stock Exchange and attacked the security personnel by hurling hand grenades and firing at them, Senior Superintendent Police City of Karachi Muqaddas Haider told the media.
He said two militants were killed during the initial exchange with the security teams and police. At the same time, the other two managed to enter the building and later were gunned down by paramilitary troops who rushed to the site following the attack.

There were hundreds of people inside the building. Police, army and paramilitary troops have cordoned off the area to make sure it is safe, and all kinds of movement near the building has been restricted.
All the attackers had been killed by police and security forces responding to the attack, said Faisal Edhi, head of the Edhi charity and ambulance service which serves the city.
As of 12:30 local time, 11 people were killed in the attack, including two civilians, four security guards at the Pakistan Stock Exchange and a policeman.
The police recovered large quantities of advanced weapons.
A separatist group, Balochistan Liberation Army, has claimed the attack. The Balochistan Liberation Army, which regularly carries out terrorist attacks on security forces and civilians inside Pakistan, was banned by the government in 2006.
