Storyline


China successfully launched a high-resolution multi-mode integrated imaging satellite and a "Xibaipo" popular science satellite with the Long March-4B carrier rocket at the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center at 11:10 (0310 GMT) on Friday.

The high-resolution multi-mode integrated imaging satellite is a civilian optical remote sensing satellite mainly used to acquire high-resolution images of China's land and surrounding areas.

In the future, the acquired data will be applied in areas like natural resources exploration and protection, emergency management, agriculture and rural areas development.

The "Xibaipo" popular science satellite is for aerospace science education and promotion. Both the satellites are made by the China Academy of Space Technology (CAST).

This is the 337th launching mission of the Long March series carrier rockets.
