"We explored an area of about 2,000 square kilometers. The oil reservoirs in the region are thick, there is a large amount of energy stored in them, and the yield of wells are very high. Next, we will pool the strength of all parties and integrate exploration evaluation to accelerate the extraction of the over 500 million-ton crude oil."

A preliminary exploratory well in Junggar Basin of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region has recently been confirmed to be a high-yield oil and gas well, thus ascertaining over 500 million tons of high-quality light crude oil and natural gas resources underground in the region.
According to officials with the oilfield company, the daily oil production of well during the trial extraction reached 158 cubic meters and 133 cubic meters in two geological reservoirs located 3000 meters and 5000 meters underground respectively, and the daily natural gas production was nearly 20,000 cubic meters, which reached the standard for high-yield oil and gas wells.
