Storyline

Chinese weapons grab spotlight at the International Defense Exhibition and Conference which opened on Sunday in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates.

One of China's star products at the fair is Caihong (rainbow) 5, a versatile long-endurance medium-altitude drone. With a maximum takeoff mass of 3,300 kilograms, an endurance of 35 hours and a service ceiling of 8,000 meters, it dwarfs other similar products displayed at the fair.

In fact, the drone has the highest price-performance ratio, the longest endurance, and the highest load expansion capability, among drones of the same weight magnitude, according to the exhibitor China Aerospace Long March International Trade Co., Ltd.

"Caihong 5 is independently developed by China. It is a medium-altitude long-endurance drone system integrating scouting, monitoring, and striking functions. Capable of loading various precision-guided weapons, it can carry out multiple types of military tasks like anti-terrorism operations and precision attacks," said Pan Tiancong, an employee of the company.

In recent years, in addition to unmanned aerial vehicles, cruise weapon systems are also increasingly widely used in anti-terrorism operations or exercises.

China's WS-43 patrol attack system is a new-generation striking weapon that meets the demands of information warfare.

Capable of achieving precision attacks, diffraction attacks, search and tracking attacks, and coordinated attacks, it can be used to assault command posts, communication facilities, fortifications, vehicles and other high-value targets.
