China's smart glasses industry is seeing into the future with the rapid integration of AI to accelerate and improve product functions and to upgrade the wearing experience.

This AR glasses company in Beijing has been working on a pair of cinematic-level glasses that use AI large models to convert 2D images into 3D.

"It will present a very large screen in front of you, equivalent to a 300-inch screen four meters away. The underlying technology benefits from our own core self-developed and self-produced optical and chip technologies. Striving to apply some of the capabilities of AI large-scale models to our AR glasses."

Meanwhile, smart glasses manufacturers are also rapidly developing AI agents which can provide real-time multilingual translations or multi-scenario information services, for example.

Another smart-glasses company in eastern China's Hangzhou says they've received 300,000 orders for this pair of AI glasses since they launched last September, making them a best seller.

Data from market research company International Data Corp shows that last year China shipped more smart glasses than any other country at 2.7 million pairs, a more than 100 percent increase from 2024.
