No Chinese citizens fell victim in the hotel bomb blast that happened Wednesday night in Quetta, capital city of Pakistan's southwest Balochistan province, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesman said on Thursday.
An explosive-laden vehicle exploded inside the parking area of Serena Hotel in Quetta Wednesday night, with four people killed and over a dozen others injured, the country's Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad has said.
"On Wednesday night, a vehicle bomb attack occurred at a hotel in Quetta, capital city of Balochistan province, causing multiple deaths and injuries. China strongly condemns this terrorist attack, and expresses condolences to the unfortunate victims and sympathy to the injured," said Wang Wenbin, the spokesman at a regular press conference.
"On that day, Chinese ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong was leading a delegation on a visit to that area. When the attack occurred, the Chinese delegation was not in the hotel. Security has been beefed up in other cities including Islamabad following the blast, and all sensitive government buildings and installations are being guarded, according to local reports.
