"I mean [for] the government, leadership matters, and when the government works for the people, then everything can happen. When the government mobilizes the society, then anything can happen. So, the most important thing I see here in China is the leadership efficiency. And also, the public trust on the government. I think the public has very strong trust on the government. Therefore, the link between the people and the government is very interwoven, very interconnected, and that is why the government has successfully alleviated poverty and changed the life of the people, of course, including women."

Experts and scholars from multiple countries gathered in Beijing on Sunday to discuss the great achievements made in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, as well as the ethnic and social development of the Himalayan region in the new era.
At the Fifth International Symposium of the Tibet Think Tank on Peace and Development, Chinese and foreign scholars shared the latest research results on the rim of the Himalayas by the international academic community, and the great achievements and experiences of Tibet's economic and social stability and development over the past 70 years through online and offline exchanges.
Experts said that the world today is undergoing a new round of major development, transformation and adjustment. In particular, in the face of global climate change and major global public health crises, further regional cooperation between China and its neighbors is conducive to common development.
"There should be closer exchange and cooperation in areas such as scientific research and medical treatment, which are within the scope of epidemic prevention. For China, the neighboring countries are its close neighbors. For neighboring countries, China is also their close neighbor. Mutual cooperation and mutual support will enable a larger region to enjoy better development opportunities in the interaction of globalization," said Hao Shiyuan, member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the peaceful liberation of Tibet. Over the past seven decades, Tibet has made remarkable achievements in various undertakings. It has historically eliminated absolute poverty.
Experts said that the successful experience can serve as a reference for the social development of other countries in the world, especially developing countries.
