A number of senior foreign diplomats to China have said they are deeply impressed by the great achievements made by the Communist Party of China (CPC) over the past 100 years since its founding in 1921, following an organized visit to an old revolutionary base of the CPC in north China's Hebei Province.

At the invitation of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee and CPC provincial committee of Hebei, envoys from 20 Arabic countries including Jordan, Lebanon, Algeria, Egypt, Palestine and Tunis visited the Xibaipo Memorial Hall in Pingshan County, and also Tayuan Village in Zhengding County, where Chinese President and CPC General Secretary Xi Jinping used to work as Secretary of the county Party Committee between 1983 and 1985.

Xibaipo was once the seat of the Central Committee of the CPC, where Chairman Mao Zedong (1893-1976) commanded the three major battles to defeat the Kuomintang-led armed forces in the War of Liberation (1946-1950), shocking both China and the world.

After the visit, the foreign diplomats said they had a better understanding of the CPC's revolutionary spirits.

Jordanian Ambassador to China Hussam Al Husseini said that the CPC has made remarkable achievements in developing China in the past century.

Tayuan Village was once an impoverished village with inconvenient transportation. Local authorities have issued many favorable policies to support farmers in growing vegetables in greenhouses and raising chickens and pigs. Now, the organic agricultural products from Tayuan are selling well all over China.

The changes in Tayuan Village are regarded as a microcosm of China's development.

Milia Jabbour, Ambassador of Lebanon to China, described the development process of the CPC with an old Chinese saying, "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step".

"If you don't know the history of the Community Party of China (CPC), you won't understand what China is like now. From the history of the CPC, we have learned how China has grown from a poor and fragile state to the second largest economy in the world," said Jabbour.
