The China-CEEC Business Council on Tuesday held the sixth meeting in Ningbo City of Zhejiang Province, with the participation of four new members, to discuss business cooperation between China and a dozen of Central and Eastern European countries (CEECs).
Over 500 representatives from governments, embassies, business councils, chambers of commerce, and enterprises attended the event both in-person and online via video link.
The attendees discussed how the business council could cooperate with local governments amid the pandemic and create cooperation with small and medium-sized enterprises across a broad range of areas.
During the event, 68 Central and Eastern European enterprises and nearly 200 of their Chinese counterparts participated in dialogues aimed at fostering partnership on agriculture, e-commerce, trade, tourism, and financial services.
"We believe that these business matchmaking events will bring tangible results with cooperation projects that benefit enterprises and people in both China and the Central and Eastern European countries," said Zhang Shaogang, vice chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).
The China-CEEC Business Council, initiated by China and Poland in 2013 and in accordance with the Bucharest Guidelines for cooperation between China and CEEC countries, is aimed at fostering trade and investment links.
The organization now has 21 members from 16 countries, with newcomer agencies from Albania, Montenegro, Macedonia and Romania attending the sixth meeting this year.
China on Tuesday kicked off the second China and Central and Eastern European Countries (CEEC) Expo in Ningbo to boost trade in consumer goods and services, which runs through Friday.
