Storyline

Acting Foreign Minister of the interim Afghan government Amir Khan Muttaqi on Tuesday reiterated that foreign forces should not interfere in Afghanistan's internal affairs.

Speaking at a press conference, Muttaqi said that when a formal government is formed, and whether or not an election is held, are questions to be answered in the future.

He also urged relevant countries and international organizations to remove Taliban-appointed government officials from their terrorist lists as soon as possible.

Afghanistan hopes all foreign relations will be based on equality and mutual respect, Muttaqi said, adding that the newly-formed interim government will set out from Afghanistan's national interests to review foreign policies and commitments made by the former government, and it will continue to implement all business and trade agreements that meet the country's national interests.

Countries, which have their own understanding of "human rights" or set up prerequisites for continuously implementing relevant agreements, will bear due consequences, said Muttaqi.

Muttaqi said that the interim government will do its best to help all Afghan people and strive to provide enough jobs to restore security and stability as soon as possible, and ensure the legitimate interests and rights of both domestic and foreign investors.

Meanwhile, he urged international organizations, including the World Bank, to continue to provide aid for Afghanistan.
