Chinese Ambassador to Afghanistan Wang Yu on Tuesday met with the country's Acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi.
During the meeting, Wang expressed China's gratitude to the Afghan side for its efforts in protecting the Chinese citizens and the property of Chinese-invested enterprises in Afghanistan as well as the safety of the Chinese embassy.
He said China respects the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of Afghanistan, and will never interfere with its internal affairs, noting that China supports the Afghan people in independently choosing a development path that suits its national conditions.
Wang also staked out that China is willing to provide COVID-19 vaccines and other humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, and to assist the country with its combat against terrorism together with the international community, so as to help the country realize national stability and economic development at an early date.
Muttaqi appreciated China's support and aid, saying that China is a friendly neighbor to Afghanistan which has always upheld unbiased and objective policies toward the Afghan side.
He said the Afghan side hopes to enhance its governance capabilities continuously with the help of China and the international community, so as to crack down on terrorist activities more effectively, noting that the Afghan side will never allow any force to use the Afghan territory to engage in acts detrimental to the interests of China and other countries.
