The earthquake that jolted Luxian County of southwest China's Sichuan Province has affected over 121,000 people as of 17:00 on Thursday, leaving three dead and 100 injured.

After the 6.0-magnitude earthquake took place at 04:33 on Thursday, the province activated over 2,000 rescuers from different places for relief operations in affected areas.

So far, over 73,000 people in Luxian have been evacuated.

The Ministry of Emergency Management has dispatched work groups to guide the relief operation, while working with the National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration to allocate 2,000 tents, 10,000 summer quilts and 10,000 folding beds to come to the aid of affected people.
