Storyline

China on Friday announced a complete success of the Shenzhou-12 manned spaceflight mission after the return capsule of the spaceship landed safely at the designated site.

"The return capsule of the Shenzhou-12 manned spaceship landed safely at the designated site. Three astronauts are all in good physical condition. China's Shenzhou-12 manned space mission is a complete success," said the Beijing Aerospace Control Center.

Three Chinese astronauts, the first group sent to orbit for space station construction, have completed their three-month mission and returned to Earth safely on Friday.

The return capsule of the Shenzhou-12 manned spaceship, carrying astronauts Nie Haisheng, Liu Boming and Tang Hongbo, touched down at the Dongfeng landing site in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) said.

The ground search and rescue team on the standby reported to the BACC that the astronauts were safe and sound after landing.

The Shenzhou-12 manned spacecraft was launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China on June 17. The crew lived and worked on the space station for 90 days, the longest stay in space by Chinese astronauts.
