Astronauts Nie Haisheng, Liu Boming and Tang Hongbo have safely got out of the return capsule of the Shenzhou-12 spaceship, all in good physical and mental condition, after the module landed safely in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Friday.
The three astronauts greeted the public and expressed their excitement, gratitude and happiness upon successful completion of their lofty mission shortly after coming out of the return capsule.
"I believe with the continuous development of China's comprehensive strength and national science and technology level, there will be more astronauts setting new records and pushing China's space work to a new height," said Nie, commander of the three-man crew.
Liu Boming, who happened to be celebrating his 55th birthday on the day of the epic return, thanked all scientific workers for their support for the mission.
"Thank you all for your concern and blessings. I will never forget this birthday. The universe is so vast, beautiful and fascinating. I was fortunate, and happy, to have the chance to fly up into the sky again and take a spacewalk on our own space station," he said.

The astronauts and the reentry module will be transferred to Beijing later.
Shenzhou-12 was China's seventh manned spacecraft, and also the country's longest space mission to date. On June 17, the Shenzhou-12 spaceship was launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China and docked with the space station core module Tianhe. After docking, the three astronauts entered the core module and began their three-month stay in space.
The crew carried out extravehicular activities twice as well as a series of space science and technology experiments. They tested key technologies for the construction and operation of the space station, concerning long-term stays for astronauts, the recycling and life support system, supply of space materials, extravehicular activities and operations and in-orbit maintenance.
The three astronauts also greatly inspired the Chinese people from space. The three-month mission has left numerous great moments for the Chinese public, with highlights such as sending congratulations from space on the centenary of the Communist Party of China on July 1 and tutoring a scientific lesson from space on September 1 when children across the country were about to start a new semester.
