Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi chaired the third Ministers' Meeting of the Forum of China and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) on Friday, with the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic and cooperation in economy and trade on top of the agenda.
"As the country holding the current rotating presidency of the CELAC, Mexico has ensured effective communication and coordination for the success of this meeting. China highly appreciates this. Across time and space, our hearts and hands are connected. We will surely write yet another great story in the history of China-CELAC exchanges," Wang said during the visual meeting.
In a speech delivered at the forum, Wang urged further efforts to continue innovation and create green development opportunities, as well as strengthen cooperation in the development of the digital economy, electric vehicles and 5G technologies.
He also called for efforts to uphold true multilateralism and improve the fairness, effectiveness and inclusiveness of global development.
